Philippa Davidson

I was born in Nottingham, England and moved to Kailua, Hawaii in 1993.  Then, in December 2011, my husband and I moved close to Pinehurst in North Carolina .  I have always had a passion for animals and all aspects of nature.

Ever since I can remember, I have loved to draw and paint, starting with pencil sketches of horses and my very patient father who had an ability to stay still for hours, or so it seemed!

My greatest inspiration for painting is the beauty of every waking day, the song of the birds and the joy and individual personalities of our animal friends.  I count myself very fortunate to have an opportunity to follow my dream and paint what I love, particularly if by so doing I can bring joy to others and share with them the beauty that I see and feel around me.

Many of my paintings have been commissions.  I work from either photographs, personal observation or both.

I love to work in pastels, which seem to most easily capture the feel and personalities of my subjects, and also oils; but art is such an evolving experience, who knows what will be next?

Aloha & Mahalo for visiting my site!
